Another cold curl! There was grumbling from our refs about unioinizing! We had moved our court of play out of the main market corridor years ago as the crush of the crowds had interfered with market booths access. But over the years more market vendors now attend market deep into December. This is so unlike the early days of our Curl when vendors and customers were scant! Our Curl this year was attended by the most highly developed protest group ever…under the acronym PIECRUST (still don’t know what it stands for). They had great signs and chants and added a great flavor to our games. A favorite sign was a drawing of Mr Potato head with an eye fallen out…with the sign reading…”It’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye!” After all the rutabagas were rolled this day Nate Nicholson of Ithaca emerged as the victor with market’s own Christi Sobel claiming the silver.
