A few new firsts for the Rutabaga Curl. We had our first uniformed referee dressed in official “zebra” garb. Dan Klein was our first ref and helped the overwhelmed Commissioner keep play orderly but also added entertainment by often making up fouls on the spot. These years games were also marred by the first ever appearance of PETR (People for the Ethical Treatment of Rutabagas) who put together a spirited protest of our games.
The 2000 market games were won by Laura Barros of Ithaca. |
